I settled on the Trek. Today was my first ride, and it felt great. Not quite the ruggedness of a DGB, but I felt like I was a foot taller all the way down 5th.
It's just exciting not to look down at 11:00 and realize I've been walking around all morning with one of my pant legs rolled up.
The front wheel deforms enough when going around corners to rub against the fender a little bit, but other than that I have no complaints. Stay tuned for a detailed review.

Dude, if your wheel's deforming, you need to have it retensioned or rebuilt.
